A Reason to Rest
“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience.” (Hebrews 4:9-11)
“The earth is not sad as you look at it being barren and bleak without crops or greenery. No, the earth is always alive and vegetating and recuperating from use.
How about you? Do you feel barren and lacking at times with no eye appeal or luster? Regardless of how you feel, I see you as vibrant and of worth. I see you as capable of anything I put your mind to.
Do you allow yourself to recuperate as you see the land recuperating? This is called ‘rest’. It is a gift from Me. It is a time to step back and reflectively appreciate what you and I have done the previous 6 days. It is a time to say ‘It is good.’
Don’t take a big bite of your vision for the future all at once. Allow it to come to pass day by day, week by week. That is how it is meant to be. Realize that if you step out of sync from what I am planning through you, then your plans won’t come to pass as you intend. Work on the vision before you in your allotted 6 days, then take advantage of your day of rest. I did, by example, and so can you.”
