A Trickle or a Flood for You?
“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8)
The Lord asked me today, “Do you want a trickle or a flood?”
I replied, “Regarding what?”
He said, “Regarding anything.”
“Anything…?” I am thinking.
Hummm… so what are my needs today? I thought: I need my skills to be useful; wisdom in decision-making; communication capabilities; compatibility and connection with others; satisfaction at the end of my workday; time for my family; a good night’s sleep.
And further…. My needs include: an ear to hear the needs of others; the words to say to give peace to the hurting; eyes to see those around me as the Lord sees them; prayers for others from my lips that open wide their pathway to God.
Lord, I don’t want just a trickle… of You… today. I want You to flood over Me. Thank You, Lord for Your invitation to receive Your gifts to me in plenty and overflowing quantity. In all that I do today, I will do it with Your plentiful and fully sufficient supply. Thank You, Jesus. Amen.
