A New Light on Creativity
“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good…” “And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.” (Genesis 1:31; 2:3)
“Do you spend countless hours and moments wrestling with your thoughts in order to resolve a situation? I am not saying that creativity always comes quickly. Sometimes the thought-provoking analysis brings forth new ideas and vistas in viewing a problem. At other times you say ‘Help, Lord’, and the answer comes quickly.
Laboring in thought can be good. I didn’t create the world by the blink of My eyes. There was a reason for Scripture to share those 7 days with you in detail. I could have snapped My finger and said ‘World be,’ but I didn’t do it that way. I allowed man to even name the animals and have control of his surroundings.
Don’t be impatient today, not with creativity of inanimate written words or drawings. Also, don’t be impatient with those around you with whom you are instilling knowledge or developing skills. It is all a matter of creativity.
Enjoy the path of creativity today. Let’s walk together and make this day enjoyable and productive. In the end you can stand back and see what you have done, whether through words on paper or a drawing or new skills given to another. Together we can then bless that work you have done and say… ‘It is good.'”
